CEPF Secretary General receives medal from the Swedish King

CEPF Secretary General Emma Berglund has been awarded the highly prestigious Greve Carl Bernadotte forest prize in Sweden.

CEPF Secretary General Emma Berglund receives the medal from His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden.
Emma Berglund receives the prize for being “a force and personality in Brussels to explain what sustainable forestry is in practice. She serves as a great source of inspiration, not the least for young people and for Swedish forestry on how we can share knowledge and build community across borders”.
The prize is each year awarded to a person who has made an excellent service to Swedish forestry. During a ceremony in Stockholm on 25 April, Emma received a medal from His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

"I am so happy and honored to have received this prize, both personally and for the great recognition it gives to the work of CEPF. It shows that what we do is important and appreciated, and it puts the spotlight on the forest-related issues at the EU level", says Emma.

The prize was established in 1952 by Greve Carl Bernadotte, grandson to King Oscar II of Sweden-Norway. The recipient of the prize is selected by the Swedish Forestry Association.

Earlier recipients of the prize include former CEPF President and Chair of Södra Forest Owners’ Association Christer Segerstéen, Forest Management Professor Urban Nilsson and Norra Forest Owners’ Association CEO Pär Lärkeryd.
