Organiser: CEPF
A CEPF workshop on NATURA2000 provides an opportunity to exchange views about the on the ground implementation of NATURA2000. Case studies from member states will form the basis for discussion on concerns as well as proposals for improvement. In particular, the formulation of the concept of a wilderness has raised concerns.
From the perspective of forest owners, a degree of uncertainty caused by the notion of general protection of species, as well as the status of existing financing schemes are among additional questions to be solved in order to achieve an effective on the ground execution of the legislation.
