The meeting is an effort to support EFI activities towards a better science-policy interface in Europe and is linked to the FOPER project in SEE.The workshop will combine keynote addresses, carefully selected presentations, facilitated plenary discussions and group work.
Objectives and modality
1. Present the recent developments and contributions of forest policy and economics research in support of good governance in forest sector of Europe.
2. Map the linkages between capacity building and good governance.
3. Link the interaction of capacity building and new governance to broader frameworks, like nfp-processes and international forest policy processes
4. Enhance interaction between forest science and policy actors at European level.
The expected outcome of the workshop is a set of directed practical recommendations on how to improve governance in the forest sector.
CEPF will be giving a presentation about governance questions raised in the WB-CEPF non-state forestry project in SEE.
