"The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP 15) will be a turning point in the fight to prevent climate disaster. The science demands it, the economics support it, future generations require it" by Yvo de Boer, UNFCCC Executive Secretary.
The Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen will be held from 7th to 18th December 2009.
It is expected that at COP15 will bring a comprehensive, fair and effective deal on climate change that both ensures long-term commitments and launches immediate action.
Sustainably managed forests as well as sustainable use of wood can greatly contribute to fighting climate change. Being present at COP15 will manifest that private forests owners are ready to carry their responsibility.
CEPF has an observer status to participate in COP15.We will secure an active and versatile participation during COP15, including contribution to relevant sessions and side events, dissemination of information on the role of forests and forest owners in mitigating climate change, as well as communicating towards the media present.
