Workshop on Best Practice Examples of Non-state Forestry in CEEC
17-20 January 2010, Hissarja, Bulgaria
Organiser: FAO, CEPF, Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Bulgaria
Overall objective of the workshop is to strengthen the non-state forestry sector in Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) and to enhance its contribution to implementation of sustainable forestry management. The workshop aims to present positive national developments in the private forestry sector by thematic sessions to the following issues: - Private forest owner association models (Czech Republic, Estonia, Bulgaria, Croatia)
- Wood-energy and wood mobilisation (intro FAO, Serbia, Croatia)
- Property rights (Turkey, Estonia, Slovenia)
- Organisers' presentations (FAO, Ministry of Agri and Food Bulgaria, PFOA Gorovladelets, CEPF).
CEPF together with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the World Conservation Union (IUCN) is a partner organisation to a joint framework project assisting the forest policy development in CEEC. The meeting in Hissar will be hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Bulgaria and the Executive Forest Agency of Bulgaria.
