Best practices in CEEC countries’ private forestry

Vilnius/Kernava, 27-29.11. 2007

Organiser: CEPF, FAO SEUR, Ministry of Environment Lithuania

The meeting objective was to highlight development issues as "best practice cases" to selected areas in CEEC's private forestry and by this to contribute to its sustainable development. 
These issues were grouped to thematic sessions which consisted of:
  • General development of the private forestry sector in the Czech Republic, Hungary
  • Finances and incentives in private forestry in Croatia and Estonia
  • Information gathering on private forestry from Lithuania, Hungary and Germany (Baden-Würtemberg)
  • Environmental services of private forestry in Finland and Austria 
The host country introduced also its development of the sector and also invited the participants to a field excursion.

It has been decided that the next "Best practice" workshop will be hosted in Bulgaria in 2009-2010.
