The Ministry for Food and Agriculture in Germany, offered him a new position in the Department of International Forest Policy, where he will support the Ministry in European/EU forest-related policy affairs. He will start his new position in mid-April.
CEPF very much regrets his leaving but at the same time fully supports him in his decision.
“The position in the Ministry offers me and my family great new perspectives. I am really looking forward to it. Nevertheless, leaving CEPF and Brussels also makes me sad. Being Secretary General and working with the European forest owners, CEPF members and team as well as many other good colleagues from various organisations and institutions on the various subjects, right at the front of EU policy making, was a real pleasure,” Aljoscha Requardt said when meeting with the CEPF Board in mid-December.
As stated by CEPF’s President Hubert de Schorlemer, the Confederation and its members very much thank Aljoscha Requardt for his hard work and dedication to CEPF. “Aljoscha Requardt significantly helped to lead and develop the organisation further, making it a more credible partner and giving forest owners a stronger voice in Brussels. We wish him and his family all the best and are looking forward to continued collaboration with him in the future.”
Emma Berglund, who is currently working in the CEPF as policy adviser and coordinator for the Nordic Forest Family Network will take over the position as CEPF Secretary General from 1 March 2016 on.
