On 16 November 2017, the European Commission published a review of the 2012 EU Bioeconomy Strategy. The review underlines some crucial bioeconomy developments in several Member States, such as the development of national and regional bioeconomy strategies.
Europe’s forests already make a great contribution to the bio-based economy. The future Bioeconomy Strategy should acknowledge this and further strengthen the opportunities forests can offer when taking further steps towards a low carbon economy.
