European Commission published its Horizon Europe proposal

On 7 June 2018, the European Commission presented the proposal for a regulation on the next Framework Programme on Research and Innovation ‘Horizon Europe’ (FP9). From a total of around € 100 billion, it devotes € 40 billion to areas of interest for the forest-based sector.

European bio-based industries: 600 billion EUR turnover and 3.2 million employees

The Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) announced at its general assembly the results of the first extensive macro-economic study on the European Bioeconomy. The study was performed by nova-Institute using the EUROSTAT numbers of 2013 as the main source of data.
