CEPF is seeking an EU Policy Officer

The Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF) is recruiting a Policy Officer to support its work on EU policy for a 7 months period (1 December 2019 – 30 June 2020).

Tasks
You will work within the CEPF team to contribute to policy and advocacy work. You will mainly carry out the following tasks:
• Contribute to policy work in areas of environment, biodiversity, CAP and rural development
• Gather and analyse national -level information in areas of CEPF interest
• Attend meetings and events and report back
• Support in framing CEPF positions and engaging with EU institutions
• Provide support for organising events and meetings

Competencies and skills
• University degree (e.g. EU law / political sciences / environmental law / natural sciences)
• Minimum 1 year professional experience
• Work experience from EU institutions or in EU advocacy
• Knowledge or a personal interest in European forestry
• Good writing/editing skills
• As the position includes direct contacts with CEPF members, EU officials and EU stakeholders, the ideal candidate should feel confident with oral expression
• Team player, with a positive attitude, sociable and reliable
• Full professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of other languages represents an additional asset

• Full-time equivalent 7 months contract based in Brussels starting in December 2019

• 7 months fixed-term contract under the Belgian law. Salary: to be determined depending on candidate’s experience
