Remembering Peter deMarsh

CEPF is extremely saddened to learn of the death of Peter deMarsh, Chair of the International Family Forestry Alliance (IFFA), who was reportedly among the passengers of the Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed shortly after take-off from Addis Ababa on Sunday 10 March.

Peter was highly devoted to support family forestry all around the world.

Lennart Ackzell, IFFA Board member, said: “He was one of the most humble, devoted, kind hearted person we have met. Unselfishly he stood up for moral and human principles. He couldn’t stand human exploitation wherever it occurred. His fighting spirits for values were outstanding. A man, whose wisdom was nonetheless recognized by everyone who knew him, Peter deMarsh was an exceptional human being, a mentor and friend beloved by his colleagues

The forest community will miss his precious expertise and contribution combined with his kindness and openness” said Hubert de Schorlemer, CEPF President.

CEPF sends its sincere condolences to Peter’s family.
