Nature Restoration Law passes its final Stage in the Parliament: a disappointing outcome

On 27 February 2024, the European Parliament adopted the provisional agreement on the Nature Restoration Law with 329 votes in favour, 275 votes against, and 24 abstentions. The tight majority for adoption correlates with the doubts of European forest owners on the agreed text.

CEPF Feedback on the EC proposal for an EU Forest Monitoring Framework

While CEPF supports the general principle of increasing resilience of European forests, the real added value of this proposal and the actual means it offers for resilient of EU forest are tenuous. The question of a need of EU action and real added value of this proposal remains.

CEPF feedback on the EC proposal for a Soil Monitoring and Resilience Directive

Soil is one of the fundamentals of forest management. European forest owners have at heart to manage and to maintain it. External factors, including changing climate, could significantly decrease possible positive results, so overall objective should fit uncertainty of results.
