CEPF press release on the adoption of the European Parliament's report on the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.

On 20 May 2021, the Portuguese Presidency of the Council together with IUCN European Regional Office invited stakeholders to exchange on the upcoming legally-binding nature restoration targets and the future EU Forest Strategy.

CEPF reply to EC Roadmap on EU nature restoration targets presents the key considerations to be taken into while preparing the announced proposal on legally binding EU nature restoration targets and its impact assessment. 

“Partnership for protection of Bulgarian old-growth forests in Natura 2000” won the Natura 2000 European Citizens’ Award and “FIRELIFE - Hungarian forest fire prevention and training program” won the LIFE Award.

“A new beginning for people and nature” was the theme of the EU Green Week 2020 organised on 20 – 22 October. The Week included several events with concerns on forests and CEPF was invited to speak at the high-level conference.

This autumn, two reports focusing on the status of European ecosystems were published. The “State of Nature in the EU”, and the “MAES: an EU-wide ecosystem assessment” both provide insights on current trends and challenges faced by European ecosystems, including forest.
