The European Commission’s long-awaited interim Climate Target outlines an ambitious path until 2040, building on sharp reductions of net greenhouse gas emissions, embracing bioeconomy, and involvement of land-based sectors.

In June 2023, CEPF, Copa-Cogeca, EUSTAFOR and CEJA hosted a joint seminar with EU policymakers, FAO and academia to raise political awareness for Bioeconomy’s return to the central stage in the next EU political cycle. Lively discussions led into a set of policy recommendations.

EUBA members have published a paper "How the Bioeconomy contributes to the European Green Deal" and a brochure "Best-practice case studies: EUBA members' contributions to the EU Bioeconomy Strategy and Green Agenda".

The Meeting of Directors General of Forests organised under the French Presidency of the EU Council took place on 17 – 18 May 2022 in Strasbourg. CEPF Secretary General Fanny-Pomme Langue participated to the meeting.
