CEPF participated in the Thematic Group on Forest-Dominant Rural Areas & Municipalities

In two meetings of the group, stakeholders discussed with the Commission how networking and collaboration can help resolve tensions and address the multiple needs facing forest-dominant rural areas.

First meetings of two new Civil Dialogue Groups and the new CAP Network Assembly

Throughout March 2023, CEPF represented European forest owners in the meetings of three important new groups that the Commission set up to exchange with stakeholders from rural areas.

CEPF Feedback on the revised State Aid rules for the Agricultural and Forestry Sectors and in Rural Areas

CEPF welcomes the publication of the draft State Aid Rules for the Agricultural and Forestry Sectors. We see the revision of State Aid Rules as a great opportunity to align them better with the needs of European forest owners and the new CAP.

The new CAP is adopted

The European Parliament adopted today the three legislative texts on the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for the period of 2023 – 2027.

Agreement on CAP reached and Communication “A long-term vision for the EU's rural areas” published

End of June 2021, two important steps were taken for future Rural Development. On 25 June, the Council and the EU Parliament reached an agreement on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and on 30 June, the Commission published its Long-term Vision for Rural Areas.

Spanish forest owners raising their voice on the future CAP

On 24 March, FAFCYLE and COSE, representatives of forest owners in Castilla y Leon and representative of Spanish Forest Owners (and member of CEPF), organised a conference day to exchange on how the future CAP could and should support forest management.
