Joint Statement | Urgent need to include EU Deforestation Regulation in the Commission simplification proposals

In view of our concerns about the Regulation’s practical applicability, lack of proportionality, substantial administrative burden, legal uncertainties and diversion of commodity flows likely to be generated, we stress the urgent need for a more targeted, risk-based, and practicable implementation, going beyond what is provided by the current Regulation.
