Parliament and Council adopt their positions on proposal for a Soil Monitoring and Resilience Law

20 June 2024
Following the proposal of the European Commission for a Directive on Soil Monitoring and Resilience, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU have settled their positions. Trilogue negotiations can be expected to begin under the new legislative cycle.

Anton Burkhart passed away on 10 October 2024. The European Forest Owners’ Community is deeply saddened and shocked. Toni was a precious, active, and beloved member of the European Forest Owners’ family, due to his genuine care, not only for forests, but also for the people around him.

CEPF statement ahead of EP vote on EUDR

The adoption of the proposal for an amending Regulation is essential to give additional time to prepare the implementation so and to establish a secure, effective and predictable framework. We trust that the EU Institutions will make the right decisions to provide additional time and to create conditions that support a practical and streamlined enforcement of the Regulation, especially for those who have been practicing sustainable forest management for generations.
